Project 365+1 {days 8 - 14}

I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see.  ~John Burroughs

25 Days of Giving...The gifts

"The most important thing in life is to learn how to give out love, and to let it come in."  ~Morrie Schwartz

Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season and a very Happy New Year!  Our month was busy...filled with good food and fun times spent with family & friends.

Although I didn't keep up on blog posting, I did continue with the 25 days of giving during the month of December.  It was a great to wake up in the morning thinking..."what can I give today?"

I gave...thanks
             hugs and kisses
             a helping hand
             directions
             donations  (clothes & money)
a cup of hot chocolate to a Salvation Army bell ringer (on a cold, cold day)
a smile to someone who needed one
a kind word  (I called the manager of a store to compliment a cashier)
the gift of fun & laughter
a prayer for someone in need
             encouragement
Christmas gifts to elderly ladies in a nursing home (who didn't have any family)
the gift of making memories with (and for) my kids
             reassurance
healthy meals (which is hard to do with everyone's schedules)
the gift of keeping family traditions (like our advent calendar)
myself the gift of peace & quiet
             hope
the gift of keeping in touch with family & friends
             flowers to a friend
the gift of paying it forward

Best wishes for a happy and healthy 2012!
