50 things...No. 8

I am so grateful for the time that our family got to spend together in Aruba this year for spring break. As the kids are getting older (and college visits are on the horizon) this may have been one of the last "spring break" trips that we take together....which made me savor every moment even more than usual. It was nice to just relax...no computers, no appointments, no practices or games. It was nice to just be...to read 6 books, to eat all 3 meals outside in the cool tropical breezes, to have our daily afternoon frozen (non-alcoholic) drink breaks and to go snorkeling & catch fish with our hands.

I loved so many things about our trip...

the gorgeous colors of the ocean and the sky...so peaceful and calming

taking long walks on the beach collecting shells...and seeing all the different creatures in the ocean (eels, hermit crabs, sea urchins, starfish, crabs & multi-colored fish).

the iguanas that would roam around the grounds...they just look so cool.

and the beautiful tropical flowers that were in bloom.

As the song by Edwin McCain goes..."these are the moments that I'll remember all my life."

"Wherever we are we have the capacity to enjoy the sunshine, the presence of each other and the wonder of our breathing" ~ Thich Nhat Hanh

"You must live in the present, launch yourself on every wave, find your eternity in each moment" ~Henry David Thoreau
