Yesterday morning I spent almost an hour just sitting in the morning sunshine (just me and my camera), watching the iris blooms slowly open to the day. Yes...I had a list a mile long of "things to do", but I didn't want to miss this miracle of nature. I wanted to capture this brief period in time and hold on to it. I feel the same way when I take pictures of my kids. The moments are fleeting and time passes quickly. I want to savor the ordinary, everyday times of our life.

Magical days are the ones that are sprinkled with the little moments that bring you joy. Today that included sitting under a cherry tree in our yard... among the pink blossoms sprinkled on the green grass...the sun shining through the leaves...and a cool breeze blowing through my hair.
