“Live in each season as it passes, breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit...” ~ Henry David Thoreau
One of my favorite things about summer is going to the local farmers' market to buy the fresh local produce. It's amazing how much better the fruits and vegetables taste when they come right from the grower. The lettuce is flavorful & crisp...the tomatoes are so sweet...and the cucumbers actually taste like cucumbers! Even the organic food that you buy in the stores doesn't come close to what you can get at the farmers' market or the roadside "ma & pa" stands. I also love meeting the people who sell the food...they are very enthusiastic and knowledgable about their products. They're just so down to earth and friendly!
