“Begin doing what you want to do now. We are not living in eternity. We have only this moment, sparkling like a star in our hand — and melting like a snowflake.”- Marie Beyon Ray
I really can't believe that today is December 1st...it's just not possible! It seems like it was only yesterday that we were at the beach with our feet in the sand, the scent of sunscreen on our bodies and the warmth of the sun beating down on our faces. I think part of the reason it doesn't feel like December is because of the weather. It's been fairly warm and rainy...instead of cold and snowy. I usually don't like the cold, but here I am on December 1st wishing for a snow day!
I would love a day where it snows just enough for the kids to have off of school...we could sleep in late...watch some movies together...make chocolate chip cookies...play in the snow...have a cup of hot chocolate (with mini-marshmallows)..read our books...and just enjoy our quiet (yet fun) day at home.
This time of the year things have a tendency to get a little crazy, but this holiday season I'm going to try to appreciate each day of December leading up to Christmas (snow or no snow)!
I'll keep in mind words like...simplicity and peace...comfort and joy...happiness and cheer...laughter and delight...and wonder and grace.
What are you wishing for this holiday season?
Hi Dawn, I tried to post a comment a minute ago and it wouldn't work, so I am going to try again but before I retype everything I said before, I'm going to try to post this as a test. Terri
