The ABC's of Life...X is for eXamine

"All that I say is, examine, inquire. Look into the nature of things. Search out the grounds of your opinions, the for and against. Know why you believe, understand what you believe, and possess a reason for the faith that is in you." ~Frances Wright

"Actually I think Art lies in both directions...the broad strokes, big picture...but on the other hand the minute examination of the apparently mundane. Seeing the whole world in a grain of sand, that kind of thing." ~Peter Hammill

I had bought a bunch of fall flowers from Trader Joe's (love that store!) and I wanted to take some pictures of the sunflowers with my macro lens. The morning light was so beautiful and I must have taken 20 or 30 close-up photos of the sunflowers. I didn't notice until I was walking away (and happened to look back at them from a different angle), that they were reflected on the countertop of the kitchen island.

Sometimes in life you need to stop and examine things from another point of view. You might be looking at something too close and have tunnel vision. Stop and take a moment to put on a different lens and look at things from various perspectives. Examine the options...evaluate and explore...analyze and study...observe and investigate...change your focus. There is always more than one way of looking at something!
